      HI,

I’m trying the Spot Check feature with three composition markers. Each time, spot check only renders out the frame of the last marker.

Exporting as .tiff sequences in the output module.

Hoping to get some insight into this quickly as we have a presentation in a few hours and I really want to showcase this feature.

To elaborate on this, the Status in the render queue of the other frames says “Failed at N/A”.

Good afternoon. I apologize I wasn’t able to help with this yesterday. The messages came in after I was already gone for the day. Are you still running into issues using Spot Check?

If so, we’ll likely need to get a bit more information on how everything is set up. Are we using manual markers or Templater’s auto-generation function? Does creating and using a new, non-TIFF output module make any difference? Are we running the Spot Check along with a render/replication operation? Or is this being run solo?

Any information you could provide regarding the configuration would be beneficial. Let us know what you find out, and we’ll see where we need to go from there.

          Thanks,

          Jeff

@CitizenSam to add to Jeff’s questions, is there any missing footage anywhere within the AEP? That is one possible source of the “Failed at N/A” error.

@Jon @Jeff . Thank you for your reply. No worries about yesterday. I’m in a weird time zone so it doesn’t make it easy to get back right away. Answers to your questions…

              Still running into issues
              Manual Markers on the composition
PNG sequence output module has the same issue
running solo spot check, not along with a render/replicate operation
no missing footage within the spreadsheet range I’ve specified

Bonus info - when I run it along with Replicate, the replicate function messes up, as well. The entire process stops after the first video in the batch and no replicates are created at all.

                Hmmm.

We’ll likely need to get more detailed information about how the system is configured and what sort of errors we’re getting. Specifically, I believe that we’ll need to take a look at the templater.log file to see what’s going on behind the scenes. Additionally, it would probably be useful if we could see some screenshots of the project, the Templater Preferences Panel, and what happens when the Spot Check is run.

Given the nature of that information, it would probably be a good idea to open a ticket with us at support@dataclay.com so that we can review those documents through a less public channel.

Let’s start there and see what we’re able to find out. Hopefully with a bit more information we’ll be able to direct our troubleshooting efforts in a more fruitful direction.

                Thanks,

                Jeff

One other quick thing to verify might be to make sure that there’s no missing footage anywhere in the project. You mentioned in your follow-up that there wasn’t any missing footage in the sheet, but if there’s any unlinked or missing footage in the project file, even if it’s in layers that Templater isn’t using, it might cause this sort of issue that @Jon was describing.

If nothing shows up there, we’ll likely need to go down the route outlined in my previous post, where we gather more information to get a better idea of what’s going on here.

                  Thanks,

                  Jeff

@Jeff Thanks, Jeff. I just started brand new project and a new spreadsheet as a test and am experiencing the same issue. I made three markers and the first two of each video fail. I’m going to email support now and get the ball rolling.

@Jeff Just to close the loop on this. Support informed me that the comment field in each marker needs to be filled in for the Spot Check feature to work. Problem solved.
