      Hey,

I am rendering a file created on a Mac with a Letterbox (No Cropping) at a Scale factor of 100%. As you can see on the examples below. But the results are different on the two machines. (Windows is unable to put the image in full height - It is still cropped at the bottom)

      Windows example:
      ![alt text](Screenshot 2021-04-23 at 12.08.49.png

      Mac example:

Is this a bug? or is there a way to make it work?
      Thanks in advance!

On windows, I am seeing that if I use for example 50% the scaling is done, but only in width (not in height as on the mac), and this way the cropping is not solved.

I am seeing that we use different versions of After effects on mac and Windows… could this be the issue?
Actually, the issue reproduces also on Mac 17.5.0; Windows has 17.4 version

For Templater also we use different versions.
            Templater_2.9.1_8495_MFG_AES.pkg on MAC
            Templater_2.9.5_9431_MFG.exe for Windows
            Could this be the problem?

@Tasnadi-Otto Is the precomp exactly square? If it is, if you add 1 px to the width of the precomp, does that resolve the issue?

There was a bug in older versions of Templater in the way that crop and fill were calculating depending upon whether or not the source footage was portrait, landscape, or square, as well as whether or not the precomp was portrait, square, or landscape, The scaling bug is fixed in 2.9.6. In 2.9.6, it should behave correctly regardless of which orientation the footage or source are, and you also wouldn’t need to add the extra 1px for square comps.
